Ubisoft reveals new VR Escape Room, Prince of Persia: The Dagger of Time

Co-Op Adventure Based on Beloved Franchise Comes to VR Escape Rooms Across the Globe

SAN FRANCISCO, February 12, 2020 — Today, Ubisoft announced its third location-based virtual reality escape room, Prince of Persia®: The Dagger of Time. Launching in spring 2020 in more than 300 locations across the globe, Prince of Persia: The Dagger of Time is a team-based adventure set in the world of Prince of Persia®: The Sands of Time. Building on the success of Ubisoft’s VR escape rooms set in the world of Assassin’s Creed®, Beyond Medusa’s Gate and Escape the Lost Pyramid, Prince of Persia: The Dagger of Time continues to strengthen Ubisoft’s position in the location-based VR market.

Developed by Ubisoft Düsseldorf, Prince of Persia: The Dagger of Time is for all ages. Two, three or four players team up and work together to solve puzzles and find a way out of a reimagined Fortress of Time. In the story, players are summoned by Kaileena, the Empress of Time. They are asked to help her to stop the evil plans of a Magi who is attempting to restore the sands to the Hourglass of Time and create an army of Sand Monsters. To successfully escape the fortress, players must use cooperative teamwork and problem-solving skills to complete objectives, utilizing powers such as time control from the dagger of time.

“Everyone has wished once to hold the incredible power to control time! Slow, pause or even rewind time when you most need it!” said Cyril Voiron, Executive Producer for Ubisoft’s Escape Games. “This is today made possible, only in VR, when you hold the Dagger of Time in our latest Larger-than-Life escape adventure.”

“After just two years in operation, we have now partnered with more than 300 locations around the globe,” said Benedikt Grindel, Managing Director of the German Ubisoft studios. “What started as a prototype became one of the largest distribution networks in the location-based entertainment market, which makes us really proud.”

The Settlers, the famous build-up strategy game set in a living Medieval fantasy world, will release on PC in 2020

The Settlers is available now for pre-order on Uplay PC
via
Ubisoft Store and the Epic Games Store

COLOGNE, GERMANY — August 20, 2019 — Today at gamescom, Ubisoft announced that The Settlers will release on PC in 2020 and revealed more details about the Glory winning strategy, as well as brand new gameplay features. New VR Escape Room: “Beyond Medusa’s Gate” coming to over 100 locations across the US and Europe

Second Location-Based VR Escape Room Experience on Ubisoft’s Escape Games Platform Delivers Co-Op Team Adventure

March 26, 2019 — Today, Ubisoft announced that Beyond Medusa’s Gate, the second location-based VR Escape Room Experience developed by Ubisoft Blue Byte, is launching on May 7 at locations across the US and Europe. Beyond Medusa’s Gate builds on the success of Blue Byte’s first VR Escape Room, Escape the Lost Pyramid, and is available exclusively at location-based entertainment centers for cooperative multiplayer VR. All current and future locations can be found below. With the development and operation of this new experience, Ubisoft continues to strengthen its position in the location-based VR market.

Developed by Ubisoft Blue Byte, Beyond Medusa’s Gate is set in the recreation of Ancient Greece from Assassin’s Creed® Odyssey

Two or four players team up and have 60 minutes to find a way out of a vast Aegean coastal cave where the legendary ship of the Argonauts is anchored. To successfully escape, players must use cooperative teamwork, problemsolving skills and precise timing to solve riddles and find their way out of this room-scale experience. Players start the adventure by choosing their avatar from among six diverse characters, and can customize them with Ancient Greek accessories.

Ubisoft’s Escape Games are tapping into two popular and growing entertainment trends—combining escape rooms and location-based VR in highly immersiveone-of-a-kind experiences,” said Cyril Voiron, Executive Producer for Ubisoft’s Escape Games. “Beyond Medusa’s Gate continues the legacy of our game design and storytelling expertise, pushing the Escape Room experience category with memorable state-of-the-art VR experiences that go beyond what is physically possible.”

“The level of immersion in Beyond Medusa’s Gate is astonishing and will make players feel like they are truly in the game,” said Benedikt Grindel, Managing Director at Ubisoft Blue Byte. “Our goal with Ubisoft’s Escape Games is to revolutionize the Location Based Entertainment industry and bring virtual reality to a mainstream audience.”
